I recently blogged about a video interview with 9 OWS people of whom 7 were male and only 2 were female. I was very concerned about the implication that women did not deserve a fair representation of their role in OWS. That video is now appearing as a TV ad about people’s reasons for being there. It now features no women at all. Obviously, the cultural bias in favor of white males is operating at OWS.

The subjugation of women has been the template for the subjugation of all other oppressed people. OWS cannot bring about economic equity while treating half the population as unequal. Maybe it’s time for women to leave OWS and find their own place to occupy.

I found the original version by googling Occupy Wall Street commercial. The version I saw on TV had eliminated the women.

Occupy Boston Women’s Caucus meeting today to plan a big march possibly in conjunction with this march. Women in rural areas: Hit up your local, effing Walmart’s!
